The dolphinfish is truly a marvel of the oceans.  They grow with incredible speed; males of the species can rocket to 4 feet long and 40 pounds just a year after hatching.  Unlike most fish of this size, the dolphinfish has a very abbreviated lifespan, rarely reaching more than 4 years old. These short lived speed demons spend their lives on the move, truly embodying a "live fast, die young" lifestyle that even James Dean would appreciate.
