The gray whale, which is found throughout the waters of the northern Pacific ocean, make one of the longest migrations by any mammal, with a journey that ranges between 10,000 and 14,000 miles! Each year from February to April, they travel from their breeding and calving waters off Baja California, Mexico to spend the summer in their Arctic feeding grounds. The gray whale is a charismatic and curious species, which make them popular for eco-tourism along the west coast of the US.
